In the bible, he is known to be part of the holy trinity while religions such as Islam view Jesus as a prophetic figure.
Nonetheless, it is undeniable that the presence of Jesus and religion as a whole has significant influence on politics, society, conflict, and various other parts of life.
A question that has garnered online debate in recent days is would Jesus be a red Republican or blue Democrat. Let’s briefly examine the basis for both.
Would Jesus be a Republican?
Many of the conservatives in America often adopt Christianity as their religion of choice with, 87.8% of the 118th Congress being Christian, it is evident that religion is a big part of politics in America.
Some argue that Jesus would be a Republican based off Christianity’s inherit traditional values. This strong connection between faith and policymaking and has led to many policies being influenced by religious principles, particularly among conservative Republicans.
Issues such as abortion, same-sex marriage, and religious freedom are often framed through a Christian moral lens. This reinforces the idea that Christianity is not just a personal faith but a guiding force in political decision-making.
Many Christians interpret verses like Jeremiah 1:5 ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you’ as supporting oppositions to Abortion. Therefore, claiming that Jesus would support a Republican agenda.
