Gaming auteur Hideo Kojima is gearing up to tackle another big horror project, and after P.T. people are suggesting it could be the scariest game out.
After endeavouring to create a whole new genre of gaming with Death Stranding it looks like Hideo Kojima is headed back to his comfort zone – making us as jumpy and uncomfortable as possible with traumatising horror experiences.
Fans on social are already proclaiming that Kojima’s next addition to the genre will become the scariest game ever despite having very little to go on, other than an apparent confirmation of the man’s return to horror on Twitter. And the reason is P.T.
As to make the scariest horror game, I’ll watch the scary movies in order to awaken my horror soul. THE EYE is the Thai horror movie I rent when making PT but was too scary to finish watching. The package is scary so I rented the disc only. Will I be able to finish watching? pic.twitter.com/BVwPruUAvt

PlayStation owners and YouTube aficionados will know exactly what I’m talking about. Short for Playable Trailer, the demo for the ninth addition to Konami’s eminently popular Silent Hills franchise had all YouTube’s big personalities squealing into our headphones in 2014. Like many, I believed they were overacting for views, but a few scripted scares into my playthrough I found myself calling the family pooch in for some company.
Despite never making it to full release, the first-person walking simulator is largely regarded as the most grounded and disturbing game from the horror production line, thanks in large part to the recruitment of Oscar winning director Guillermo del Toro; another master of the macabre.
With what appeared to be the perfect infrastructure to build a revolutionary game, unfortunately it transpired that too many cooks spoiled the broth and the project was scrapped after one too many ‘creative differences’ between Konami and Kojima.
Now, following the release of Death Stranding (a game bearing no resemblance to P.T. barring Norman Reedus and another funky foetus), Kojima has implied that he’s finally ready to return to the world of horror to make ‘the scariest horror game’ – a prospect that’s ‘yay’ and ‘hell naw’ in equal measure.
