Palace drops capsule collection to support the NHS

The British skatewear label is dropping a collection of hoodies, tees, and crewnecks to raise money for charities supporting NHS staff and volunteers caring for coronavirus patients around the UK.

If there’s one thing to be learned from all of this, it should be how precious and essential the National Health Service is. Alongside the nationwide round of applause that takes place every Thursday at 8pm, a large number of organisations and companies have stepped up to show their support as well, raising money for health workers on the front lines.

Without a doubt the country’s most valuable publicly funded institution, it has never been so important to show appreciation for the tireless work carried out by the NHS which is why it’s been particularly heartwarming to see such an extraordinary outpouring of love lately.

And, getting involved with what GQ has called ‘the most important drop of the year’ is Palace, a British skatewear label that’s joined the fray with an entire capsule collection dedicated to the NHS.

Founded in 2009 by Londoner Levent Tanju, Palace has very quickly become the UK’s answer to cult NYC label Supreme and a hype brand with drops that are equally as sought after (as well as increasingly difficult to come by).

The timely collection, which includes white hoodies, tees, and crewneck sweatshirts all emblazoned (front and back) with an ‘NHS blue’ take on Palace’s classic triangle logo and the words ‘National Health Service’ on each equilateral side, will drop tomorrow morning on the brand’s website.

‘NHS TRI-TO HELP’ was announced at 11am on Tuesday, coinciding poignantly with the minute’s silence that was arranged across the country to remember the 104 key workers who have died during the pandemic due to the lack of PPE funding. Although the NHS is not a charity, it’s vital that we give hope to its workers during this unbelievably difficult time and draw attention to how hard they are fighting which many major brands – like Palace – are successfully doing.

All profits will be given directly to NHS Charities Together, a foundation striving to help frontline staff and their families as well as providing research and medical equipment where they can. Bravo, Palace.
