Nick Mira is the rising Gen Z producer you need to know

The 19-year-old Internet Money Records member has already risen the ranks to producer royalty, and is only set to go up from here.

When it comes to being a self-made producing superstar, Nick Mira is probably about as close to the top as you can get.

At only 19 years of age he’s established himself as a dominant force in the trap and emo rap SoundCloud scene, working closely with Taz Taylor at Internet Money Records to build his brand and elevate his profile.

Even if you haven’t heard his name before, you’ll definitely have heard at least a handful of tracks he’s produced. Nick worked closely with the late Juice WRLD on a number of projects, and was the brains behind the instrumental for the smash hit ‘Lucid Dreaming’.

He’s also created beats for Post Malone, Lil Skies, Trippie Redd, Young Thug, and Lil Uzi Vert, amongst others. Here’s the track ‘Bandit’ that Nick produced, which features Juice WRLD and YoungBoy Never Broke Again (it’s a personal favourite of mine and a certified banger).

Nick’s had some involvement in a huge variety of sad trap rappers over the last three or four years, and is the co-founder of Internet Money Records. His work can be described as melodic trap hip hop, with flavours of emo pop punk thrown in there for good measure.

Despite only being on the scene for a relatively short amount of time, Nick’s had a huge impact on the SoundCloud movement, and given he’s not even twenty yet, there’s no doubt that he’ll be a dominant force in the industry for at least the next five years or so.

He also frequently drops content on the Internet Money Records YouTube channel, giving audiences a glimpse into how he works his magic producing tracks. I’ve no idea how he’s doing what he’s doing most of the time – it’s the stuff of wizardry. If you haven’t checked out the label’s channel yet you’re missing out, and I thoroughly recommend it.

You should absolutely keep an eye on him in the future. He’s not going anywhere for the foreseeable future. There are plenty more sad trap bangers in the pipeline, that much is for certain.
