Converse upcycles old denim into sneakers

As part of their Renew initiative, Converse are about to drop a new collection of Chuck Taylors that upcycles old denim into sneakers.

You’ve probably already heard a lot about the new sustainable sneaker options that Converse is rolling out this year, specifically the ones made from plastic bottles, but there’s a new pair taking centre stage.

Working with our all-time favourite textile, the iconic shoe brand has teamed up with UK-based vintage retailer Beyond Retro to transform our old jeans into some pretty desirable high and low-top silhouettes.

We totally stan that so many footwear labels are starting to get on board with the sustainable fashion movement in the midst of this environmental crisis we’re having. And reducing how much waste our planet produces by integrating pre-loved materials into their products is a great place to start.

Following in the footsteps (pun intended) of its canvas predecessor, Renew Denim focuses on getting creative without adding to the landfill pile.
